A local tradition that works wonders on tables… And it's not sin loving it

In this small town of the Pyrenean piémont, between Tarbes and Bagnères de Bigorre, Françoise and Dominique perpetuate the recipe of the king of cakes passed on by the maternal grandmother.

Its colour and its long pikes are the result of a long cooking and an excellent control of the pastry cooked over a wood fire. It becomes spectacular when associating pleasure and conviviality.

Since generations, the king of cakes has been an honour for weddings, communions and baptisms. One can savour it plain, served with light custard or country sauce, icecream. And it's not sin loving it !

Its reputation has seduced more than one restaurant owner or one show dedicated to gastronomy and it is yet exported abroad like in Holland or Japan.

Also specialized in hard baked pastry such as marvels, thin almond cakes, pies, tourtières, shortbread biscuits, madeleines and petits Fours such as macaroons and financiers…

The Pic Bigourdan is present on the Agricultural and Trek Show in Paris, in shops in Lille and has hit the headlines in the TV news of Jean-Pierre Pernault.
